Grades 1-2 students meet in the Youth Lounge for a large group kickoff before heading to their classrooms. Parents may pick their 1st & 2nd grade children up from their classrooms at 10:30.
Grades 3-6 students also meet in the Youth Lounge for a large group kickoff before heading to their classrooms. Students in grades 3-6 will be dismissed from their classrooms at 10:30 am and will NOT require a parent to pick them up.
St. James is blessed to have a great Sunday School program! We are committed to sharing the Good Word and teaching about Jesus’ love. Parents and youth can learn together and from one another.
Spark: Activate Faith
3 year olds-Grade 4
Spark Lectionary offers a Bible-centered curriculum with special designed, hands on, age-appropriate materials. The lessons in the curriculum correspond to the Revised Common Lectionary, which are the Bible readings we follow in worship. Parents and youth will be able to connect what they heard and learned in Sunday School and during the worship service. Since Sunday School is only one hour of the week, it is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to take the lessons learned outside of the church building and continue in conversation throughout the week.
Connect is designed especially for “tweens.” It takes the youth on a journey through the Old Testament, exploring the connections between several stories each week. The age-appropriate curriculum incorporates funny video clips with solid Lutheran theology. Connect grows with preteens, helping them make sense of the Bible and encouraging them to ask questions, make connections and reflect.
The cost of the Sunday School program is $15 per student for this program / $30 maximum per family.
All children are welcome to participate in our Sunday School program regardless of their ability to contribute toward the materials. If you need a scholarship, please contact Holly Parker at email@example.com.
