Peter began his ministry at St. James in 2006. He and his wife, Betsy Teigland, were married in 1986. They have two adult children, Ingrid and Soren. Peter and Betsy’s second child, Stefan, died in infancy (1991).
Previously Peter served at Our Redeemer’s in Hancock, MN; Eidsvold-Bethlehem Parish in Bay City, WI; Galilean in Clear Lake, IA; and Bethel in Madison, WI. His seminary internship was in Mbabane, Swaziland. Betsy works at the Global Health Institute at UW – Madison.
Peter is a graduate of St. Olaf College, Luther Seminary, and UW-Stout (MS — Marriage & Family Therapy).
He enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis and guitar, teaching the Enneagram, and singing in the Madison Chamber Choir. Peter is delighted to serve at St. James.
